  • Dear Killfile, great article but while I agree the map of Iraq must be redrawn I would not put much faith in the UN. The UN does not have a great track record on stopping genocide.

  • NORAD must be able to call on fighter jets to respond to threats to North American aerospace. They might not belong to NORAD but somebody had to fly air defence missions. I don't want to defend W's service record I simply want people to consider the service of others who served.

  • With all due respect it was normal to rotate troops on the western front. Winter is not a great time to launch an offensive the only one I can think of that was successful was the Red Army assault on Germany in January 1945. The Christmas truce much like the Angel of Mons is something of a myth.

  • American TV failed to use Gretzky the greatest talent any professional sport to promote hockey; they don't get it and won't get it. Hockey is the best game in the world. Even the most widely watched sport (soccer) has markets where it does poorly.
